Issue: Dynamically update website with Calendar of Events, Bookings and Membership details from a private corporate network from a Windows Back Office system.
Description: The Manchester Literary and Philosophical Society are an ancient society formed back in 1786, they have an international membership and a very full programme of events. Their in house database system is used to maintain, plan and administer all aspects of the society however they needed to ensure that their website and member services were synchronised.
Benefit: The hard way is to remember to keep updating the web site and transfer member details manually, the easy way is to simply let a web service do all the hard work.
Solution: Impact Technology designed a secure web service that allows the Society to operate its back office system whilst in the background the web site and web based member services are being synchronised. Security was paramount and the use of nested encryption, access control and dynamic password/keys consequently delivered a cost-effective and efficient solution.
